I had a good time recording the
<glacius:link page="music/projects/stairway-to-heaven-solo">Stairway to Heaven solo</glacius:link>,
so I thought I'd run it back this week with one of my favorites: Jerry Cantrell's
solo in Them Bones by Alice in
Chains. Unlike Stairway to Heaven, I already knew this solo, so I didn't
really need to practice or memorize it, which made things way easier.

I don't have a guitar with a tremolo bar, so I emulated the dive bomb by
slowly detuning the 5th string by about an octave (heard at about
00:37

in the video). I tried using a slide but it sounded like trash on the low strings.

As usual, I recorded it in Ardour
and used Hydrogen to program
the drums.
