Armored Saint - Dropping Like Flies - Solo

This article is part 43 of 52 in the 2022 music project series.

I found an Armored Saint tab book in a used book store, and it looked amusing enough to buy. I had never heard of them before, but they looked pretty hard core and had a song called "Reign of Fire", which I hoped inspired the totally metal movie of the same name featuring Christian Bale and Matthew McConaughey fighting dragons (yes, really). But I don't think there's any relation between the two works of art.

Dropping Like Flies is a decent song with probably the most interesting solo(s) from the album. They were kinda fun to learn and play. I mostly chose it because I think the singer just wanted to have a chorus hook with the line "Sweet as pie" in it.

No video for this one. The World Series ate into my music project time and frankly, I never played either of these solos the same way twice so pantomiming them would've just looked silly. I honestly found them kind of awkward and counterintuitive to play. I guess it's just not my style.
