Chopin - Étude Op. 10, No. 12

This article is part 31 of 52 in the 2022 music project series.

Like the Bach Prelude I wanted to give myself a few hours of solid practice and see how well I could stumble through Chopin's mildly famous Revolutionary Étude. Probably one of my favorite pieces, and definitely one of my favorites to play. It's basically the only piece in my repertoire that I play semi-consistently, i.e. it's the one I trot out to impress people.

Andre Watts played it for Mr. Rogers and after Watts finished Mr. Rogers exclaimed "I'm so proud to be your friend!"

Which is basically the greatest compliment a human being could ever receive.

My most egregious errors were a sloppy left hand in the G♯ minor section, and just absolutely wailing that low F instead of the low E. You can tell when it happens cuz I break out the stank face.
